MY APPROACH

People seek out therapy for different reasons, sometimes for help with a specific issue and other times because they see the need for change in their lives. Whatever the reason, I believe life can be amazing and sometimes it takes a little help to get there.

Initially, we look at the day to day challenges that may be motivating factors for seeking therapy. At times we might explore past experiences and attachment styles. This helps gain an understanding of current relational patterns and opportunities for change. Depending on the situation and the person, we may introduce different techniques for use in and out of the session.

MY PHILOSOPHY

I use collaborative and holistic therapy techniques with my clients. Collaborative means we work as a team, and holistic means that I use the connection between mind and body to help you feel empowered with, rather than controlled by, your emotions. This may look like evidence-based mindfulness exercises, or clinically-proven tools like Neuro Emotional Technique® (NET).

My licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist and certification as an Addiction Treatment Counselor, combined with my adjunct faculty position at California State University, Northridge, allows me to help people in all different situations.
